Lower Downtown Denver Historic District is part of an area that includes the Auraria Campus, Riverfront Park, the Central Platte Valley, the Ballpark , Central Platte Valley, Prospect and the Upper Larimer/River North neighborhoods. Lo Do is located northwest of downtown Denver, where Cherry Creek and the South Platte River come together.

LoDo is the original Denver City, and its oldest area. In the early days it was a busy place, known for its wild ways during the Denver Gold Rush. In 1870 a railroad spur was constructed from Cheyenne, and Union Station was built in LoDo. LoDo saw deterioration, as air travel and new highways stifled train travel.

However, by 1995, when Coors Field opened at the edge of the district, revitalization began with stores, restaurants  and other businesses.  Pepsi Center came to the other side of the area, and old warehouses were transformed into pricey lofts. The area is mixed use and has a vibrant night life. Various community organizations monitor the redevelopment and late night safety issues are few.

Condos and lofts are readily available as well as historic single residences. Prices range from $300,000 to well over $1,000,000.
